The Farm at Harvest Hills Wedding Inspiration
I’ve been off of the social media grid for a while for a variety of life reasons, but I’ve still been working on creating hand lettered wedding signage to share with you all. Today I’m excited to finally share some photos of wedding calligraphy items from a styled shoot I participated in at the Farm at Harvest Hills (albeit a few weeks late, but who’s counting??).
The Farm at Harvest Hills is a gorgeous wedding venue located in Delaware, Ohio. If you’re looking for a barn venue with rustic elegance and beautiful views just outside of the city of Columbus, Ohio, look no further!
The Farm at Harvest hills has ample space for your wedding day celebrations, with space options including the Little White Barn, the large Gathering Place barn, and the Brick Barn, not to mention all of the outdoor space. All of that space makes it easy to have both your wedding ceremony and reception at one venue, which is a plus for lots of couples.
My favorite spot was probably the outdoor ceremony area next to the Gathering Place. Can you imagine getting married with this picturesque backdrop, surrounded by rolling green fields and backed by a rustic wedding arch? There was even a horse friend that decided to make an appearance in some of my shots (see above)! The venue has a package option to have horses available to accompany you in your wedding pictures. They also have several other farm-based activities for your guests to enjoy, like a petting zoo or picking pumpkins in the fall.
There is so much character built into the Farm at Harvest Hills, it doesn’t take much in the way of décor to complete your wedding look. Even so, wedding signage and calligraphy is always a great way to finish off your special day and to keep your guests informed. Read on to see the hand lettered pieces I chose to add some personalized touches to this beautiful venue!
Aisle runner + Chalkboard sign
This aisle runner project was quite the undertaking, I must say, but the end result was worth it! I hand lettered this thirty foot aisle runner with the entire scripture chapter 1 Corinthians 13. The lettering itself covers nine feet of the runner! This is a key scripture used in a lot of Christian weddings because it talks about the true nature of love in the way that God intends it.
To go along with the Bible verses on the aisle runner, I lettered another popular wedding quote from Song of Solomon 3:4 on my favorite chalkboard. This verse brings out the passionate love shown in the Song of Solomon and is another great quote to tie your Christian faith into your wedding ceremony.
I like using chalkboards for wedding signage because they are extremely versatile and complement both casual and formal settings. The formal calligraphy style and bridal white frame make this a perfect sign for your wedding ceremony!
Welcome Sign
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I can’t get enough of mirror wedding signs! Mirrors add an instant touch of elegance to any wedding (and they also provide an excellent opportunity for a wedding themed selfie for your guests!). I thought the gold frame of this welcome sign paired perfectly with the warm tones and vintage frames inside the main barn. The globe lights in the reflection of the sign added quite the dreamy effect as well.
Seating Chart
My vintage window seating chart paired perfectly with the rustic feel of the décor at the Farm at Harvest Hills. There were so many photo worthy spots, it was hard to choose where this piece looked best, but ultimately it made the most sense to display it outside the main barn where your guests would view it upon entering the reception area.
The existing greenery and flowers outside the Gathering Place completed the look of my seating chart setup with little to no effort on my part. Wedding venues with ample foliage will always get a big thumbs up in my book!
Open House
After the styled shoot, the venue hosted an open house where I got to meet engaged couples considering using the Farm at Harvest Hills as their wedding location. I always jump at the chance to show off my latest pieces and meet new Ohio couples looking for a wedding calligrapher.
Participating Vendors
It was awesome to make some wedding industry connections with the other vendors and wedding photographers. Everyone was so welcoming, friendly, and eager to collaborate. This was the first styled shoot I had participated in, and I learned a lot from my experience. I’m looking forward to participating in many more styled shoots in the future and establishing more relationships with Columbus, Ohio wedding venues.
Here is a list of the other fabulous vendors that participated in the styled shoot, as well as some photographers that captured the day as well. I wasn’t able to capture the work of all of these vendors in my post, so be sure to check out their pages!
